The ZAUNKÖNIG® Learning Tower (3-in-1) combines three functions in one stylish, reversible piece of furniture. Children can stand on our Learning Tower – turn it over, and it becomes a classic high chair. When laid flat, it serves as a creative play object and transforms into a bench that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. It is the only learning tower on the market made of natural oak – a durable and sturdy companion for your home. The soft folding cushion serves as a backrest and bench cushion – and fits neatly into the storage space between the seat and standing area.

Inspired by Maria Montessori, we designed the ZAUNKÖNIG® for our children, and they have tested it in every situation. Its patented design is as unique as it is sustainable. Optionally available with a tray.

The learning tower is crafted from solid, oiled oak – handmade in a small chair workshop in the Ore Mountains. The wood comes from regional, PEFC-certified forestry and impresses with its natural feel, durability, and exceptional stability.

The cushion filling consists of dimensionally stable polyurethane, which ensures comfort and support.

Our plant-based hard wax oil reliably protects wooden surfaces from liquid penetration. Stains, food residue, or your child’s favorite juice can be easily wiped away with a damp cloth—ideal for everyday family life.

What materials are used for the ZAUNKÖNIG® Learning Tower (3-in-1)?

For the ZAUNKÖNIG® learning tower, we exclusively use high-quality oak wood from sustainable, regional forestry. This wood is sanded and treated with a natural oil. Our children's furniture is free of harmful chemicals and safe for your child.

Why do you use solid wood?

Most children's furniture these days is made from sheet materials. Why? Because it's simpler – and cheaper to produce. However, sheet materials contain a large amount of adhesives (because the thin wooden panels have to be glued together); often, it's also impossible to trace exactly which type of wood was used. A large proportion of these panels come from Eastern Europe, Russia, or even further afield. And if the panel's coating gets scratched, it can't be repaired. For us, all these are good reasons for real wood. It's more vibrant, more tactile, more robust – and can beautifully age and become more beautiful alongside you and your children.

Is the wood treated or varnished?

We exclusively use a natural, plant-based hard wax oil for sealing. This preserves the natural feel of the oak wood – and simultaneously protects the surface from moisture and dirt.

The learning tower is ideal for children from about 9 months old, as soon as they can sit up independently.

The ZAUNKÖNIG® Learning Tower (3-in-1) is available in a size of 40 cm x 37.5 cm x 85 cm (W x D x H) and weighs approximately 12 kg. As the only learning tower on the market made of solid wood rather than sheet material, it is stable yet easy to move and rotate. It can support you in various situations and rooms throughout your daily life.

What is the maximum load capacity?

The learning tower is extremely sturdily built and has supported us for many years – both two children and two adults on the bench. However, the official maximum weight capacity is approximately 80 kg.

Can the learning tower also be used as a stepladder or stool?

Yes, the learning tower is versatile and can also be used as a stepladder or stool for adults, making it a practical kitchen helper for the whole family. It can be a step to reach higher shelves or an extra chair when you need it.

Do you also need a safety guard for the high chair?

The ZAUNKÖNIG® Learning Tower (3-in-1) can be used as a highchair with or without the safety guard – depending on your child's age. It's easily, quickly, and securely attached with three screws and is included in the delivery for the Learning Tower (3-in-1).

For your child's first sitting (from 9 months), we recommend using the safety guard. Once your child is a little older and can sit stably and independently, the highchair can also be used without the safety guard, allowing you to sit with them at the dining table or living room table.

Do I have to assemble the learning tower (3-in-1) myself?

No, the ZAUNKÖNIG® Learning Tower (3-in-1) comes fully assembled. No assembly, no modifications – just unpack, enjoy, and get started! The safety guard for the highchair is attached with just three screws. A small tool and instructions are included.

Can the learning tower also be used outdoors?

The ZAUNKÖNIG® Learning Tower is primarily designed for indoor use. On nice days, it can of course be taken outside—for example, onto the patio or into the garden. However, please always ensure it is placed on a stable, level surface. Additionally, the learning tower should not be exposed to the elements, such as rain or moisture, on a long-term basis, so that the wood remains protected over time and no cracks form.
