The ZAUNKÖNIG® 3-in-1 learning tower was developed to allow children to explore their environment playfully and safely – while always being at eye level with their parents.

All ZAUNKÖNIG® products are manufactured in Germany, with a strong emphasis on sustainability and the use of environmentally friendly materials. Our children's furniture is produced in a traditional chair factory in the Ore Mountains, while our children's tableware is hand-cast in a factory in the Franconian Forest.

For the ZAUNKÖNIG® learning tower, we exclusively use high-quality oak wood from sustainable, regional forestry. This wood is sanded and treated with a natural oil. Our children's furniture is free of harmful chemicals and safe for your child.

Most children's furniture these days is made from sheet materials. Why? Because it's simpler – and cheaper to produce. However, sheet materials contain a large amount of adhesives (because the thin wooden panels have to be glued together); often, it's also impossible to trace exactly which type of wood was used. A large proportion of these panels come from Eastern Europe, Russia, or even further afield. And if the panel's coating gets scratched, it can't be repaired. For us, all these are good reasons for real wood. It's more vibrant, more tactile, more robust – and can beautifully age and become more beautiful alongside you and your children.

We exclusively use a natural, plant-based hard wax oil for sealing. This preserves the natural feel of the oak wood – and simultaneously protects the surface from moisture and dirt.

The main difference between porcelain and ceramic lies in the material composition and firing temperature. Porcelain is made from kaolin, quartz, and feldspar and is characterized by a high melting point, while ceramic is generally made from clay and fired at lower temperatures. Porcelain has a finer, denser, almost translucent surface, which makes it particularly valuable and elegant – but also more robust. This density makes porcelain less porous and therefore less susceptible to stains or odors – ideal for use as children's tableware.

Most bamboo products contain only a minimal amount of bamboo fibers and are largely made of synthetic resin (melamine, short for melamine-formaldehyde condensation resins).
