Porcelain for children – is that really possible?

Porcelain for kids? Sounds daring—but it’s brilliant. Our porcelain children’s tableware is safe, healthy, and beautiful. It helps build our children’s confidence, instills a sense of trust, and fits perfectly with the Montessori philosophy.

Porcelain for children—is that really possible?

Many parents ask themselves exactly this question. Isn’t porcelain too fragile? Too precious for little hands? We say: No. On the contrary—porcelain is a wonderful choice for children. Because it combines natural beauty, safety, and a sense of appreciation.

Natural and healthy

Our children’s cups and bowls are made of high-quality, pure porcelain, which is cast with great attention to detail in a traditional workshop in the Franconian Forest. The raw materials used are completely natural and contain no chemical additives. Unlike melamine, polycarbonate, or bamboo, which can release harmful substances during use, porcelain remains free of toxins—a safe and healthy choice for children.

Form follows function—designed with children in mind

We have designed our tableware to make it easier for children to eat and drink independently: Mugs with a tapered shape and a secure grip, plus a low center of gravity that makes tipping over difficult. The bowls have an inwardly curved rim that makes spooning easier and reduces frustration. This makes eating a natural part of life for children—and the tableware remains what it’s meant to be: a tool for learning, not a toy.

Learning by Example

Children want to be like us. They watch us as we eat and drink—and they learn. By giving them real tableware, we show our children how to treat things with care. It is a quiet learning process mirrored by their parents. And an important first step toward treating our environment with care.

Trust Builds Self-Worth

When we entrust our children with porcelain, we send an important message: We believe you can handle this. This trust strengthens self-worth and gives our children the feeling of being taken seriously. A concept closely tied to the Montessori philosophy—children grow when we entrust them with responsibility.

What if something happens?

Of course, a cup or bowl might fall once in a while. But our porcelain is sturdy; we’ve tested it on various surfaces: thanks to its solid form, it doesn’t break as easily. And should an accident happen—isn’t that a valuable experience we’ve all had? Mishaps are part of life. Children, in particular, learn from them that mistakes are allowed and that they can grow from them.

More than just tableware

For us, porcelain for children is not just a rational decision. It is an expression of trust, appreciation, and sustainability. Less plastic in everyday life, more authentic materials that appeal to the senses: Children love to feel the cool, smooth texture of porcelain—it is a tangible sensory experience. And greater awareness of a healthy world.

As you can see, we believe there are very few reasons to deprive our children of porcelain. Because it is beautiful, healthy, and valuable. And because it shows children: We trust you to grow up mindfully and responsibly.
